Coaching Cyclists

As a masters athlete, a USA Cycling Level 2 coach, and a certified personal trainer, and nutritional coach, Jeff brings a world of experience to his athletes.

Jeff currently holds World Ultra Cycling Association 100km, 100mi, 200km, and 6-hour world records on the track, has the 65+ and 70+ age group fixed gear course records at the World 6-Hour Time Trial Championships and is a former hour record holder at the San Diego Velodrome.

Working with masters athletes, Jeff offers a process-oriented approach with multiple goals:
• Stay healthy
• Focus on durability
• Do not get injured
• Have fun

Staying healthy and injury-free means incorporating nutrition, hydration, and a strength program into any endurance program.

Having fun does not mean we don’t take it too seriously. It means that the process has to be both fun and satisfying for anyone to continue.

MY COACHING PHILOSOPHY

I believe a coach’s job is make you a better athlete. If you are a masters racer looking for race results or you are just getting started on a fitness journey, coaching will make your process better and, in turn, will make your outcome and results better.

As we see more and more companies produce online and AI-driven training plans, the role of a coach remains the same – understand you, the athlete. As your coach, I will be your guide when needed, your cheerleader when needed, and an objective voice when needed.

TESTIMONIALS

The biggest benefit has been reaching a high level of fitness while keeping fatigue manageable. That’s allowed me to keep improving without it affecting my responsibilities as a dad and business owner, which I struggled to figure out on my own. He’s also introduced things like strength training, proper warmups, openers, and activation that I never really focused on before but now see make a difference. I haven’t made it to the podium yet, but I feel a lot more confident in my fitness when I race. He also brings great insight beyond training, including help with tactics, equipment, and testing through his partner’s.

Masters Athlete, Velodrome Racer

Jeff is a great coach who will center your program around your goals and your ability to train. The workouts are also fun and exciting to get through.

I was able to greatly increase my fitness on the bike, and racing skills at the velodrome. The lactate testing and the analysis that Jeff provides around the test have also been really helpful for training.
